HOW TO RECORD VINYL RECORDS TO CD? VINYL RECORDS RESTORATION: |
|
|
You can preserve your old vinyl records and dub plates collection by recording them on CDs. In addition you also can restore some of your records by using special digital software tool removing pops, clicks and scratchy noise.
To do so you may need some extra equipment and tools. Of course, you can record your records directly to stand-alone cd recorder. But to do more sophisticated work and restoration you'll need to use your computer for recording, digital audio-editing and CD-mastering.
To Record Records to CD using computer you need: record player, RIAA phono preamplifier (connecting output of your record player with input of phono pre-amp and then connecting output of phono pre-amp with analog input of your computer soundcard (or input of standalone cd-recorder)), computer with good quality
soundcard and analog input,
audio-recording/editing software, CD-mastering (CD-burning) software, CD-R (CD recordable) computer drive. To record LPs to CD without computer you need: record player, phono RIAA preamp, standalone CD-Recorder. Some hi-end record players and some cd-recorders actually already have built-in phono preamp, so in this case you simply connect output of the record player with input of the CD-recorder. As you can see, using computer is a little more complicated than using stand-alone recorder, but it gives you complete control over restoring, editing, mastering and arranging tracks on your CDs. |
